The American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb – Miami

Fight for Air Climb

The American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb – Miami is an inspiring annual event where hundreds of first responders and community members rally to support lung health.

Local 1403 has been a presenting sponsor for over 20 years! This unique event has taken place at loanDepot park, home of the Miami Marlins, for the past few years and challenges participants to climb 1,700 stairs to raise awareness and critical funds for the 3.2 million Floridians living with lung disease.

Local 1403’s signature “Battle of the Battalions” is a component of the event the brings together 14 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue battalions, headquarters staff, recruits, and cadets in a friendly fundraising and fitness competition.

Many firefighters complete the climb in full turnout gear, weighing up to 70 pounds, to honor those affected by lung illness. This event also features a Firefighter Challenge, a high-intensity obstacle course open to climbers of all levels. As the top fundraising firefighter team in the nation, Local 1403 proudly leads this mission-driven event, encouraging the public to join or support at www.climbMiami.org
